Resources For Aging In Place

At Golden Home Management, helping our client manage their homes and maintenance needs to make aging in place a seamless transition is our number one goal. We saw a need while helping our own families and wanted to find a way to make it easier on you as well as your adult children – especially if they live far away. While we are always here to help, we know there are some additional resources that may be useful to you. We’ve complied a short list of them here, but we’re always available to help you access any services you may need.

National Aging in Place Council (NAIPC)

NAIPC is a non-profit organization that focuses on educating and supporting aging in place. They have a network of professionals who are experts in healthcare, financial services, and elder law the same way that we have a network of home maintenance and management professionals.

If you need assistance with community programs, legal advice, and long-term financial planning the NAIPC is a good place to go for help.

Texas Health and Human Services

The state of Texas offers a host of different services to aid older Texans. They can help you understand and apply for benefits you’re qualified to receive. They also have divisions to assist with disabilities. It’s recommended that you establish contact with their offices before you need them in order to be sure you get any services you may need as they arise.

AARP Livable Communities

AARP offers a range of resources to help communities become more age-friendly. Their website includes information on housing options, community planning, and services to support aging in place. They offer a livability index that gives neighborhoods and communities nationwide a score based on available services and amenities for older residents. If your community doesn’t get a great score, they offer resources to help you advocate for improvement.

Golden Home Management is always here as a resource for you as well. We focus on home management and maintenance with our own database of vetted professional contractors as well as a monthly maintenance plan designed to make keeping up with your home as easily as possible.
