What is a home assessment?

What to expect during a home assessment
1. Initial call
The first step of the process is the phone call. We’ll speak with you on a top-down view of your property maintenance needs. We’ll ask about things like your family situation, an overview of your property, and your various goals. We’ll also set up a date and time to see your home in person. That way, we can best ideate your unique home strategy.
2. Home visit
On the date and time you select, we’ll send out a Golden Home Management assessor to your property. Once there, they will go through your house, inside and out, to get the best possible view of the property’s maintenance history and the status of your home’s appliances. They will also start making note of any beneficial features or services. For example, features like weatherstripping doors and windows or services like regular maintenance to plumbing and electrical systems, are available.
3. Review
Once we’ve done the walkthrough, your assessor will review the findings with you directly. Our to-do list starts with the immediate items, such as anything unsafe or things that should be addressed soon. Then we discuss the intermediate and long-term items and goals you have for the property. We’ll also discuss any technology improvements we can make, such as motion sensors or automatic smart lights.
4. Develop a plan
Once you and the assessor review the items, Golden Home Management will help you develop a solid plan to make it a reality. The assessor will map out your specific home plan and this same coordinator will be your point-of-contact throughout the process. They’ll be on-site completing the work themselves or coordinating contractors on your behalf.
